Why Don’t I Meditate More Consistently?!
These last couple of weeks have been a rollercoaster. Big highs and low-lows… And I realized something… I haven’t been consistently meditating. It’s crazy, whenever I am not consistent with my meditation practice I notice my days become very polarized and anxiety ridden :/ But if I just spend 20 minutes each morning sitting still, focusing on my breath, with the intention to just be in the moment and passively watch thoughts and feelings come up… it’s such a good reset!
Welp, off to do some light yoga, eat breakfast, and then start my day! Feeling good!
Just completed a 5 day keto-fast. Meaning, no juicing or any of that. Even though there’s some evidence to say ketone bodies has a muscle sparing effect, I didn’t want to take any chances, so I supplemented with PerfectAmino 5g, 2x per day. I also took adaptogenic herb, rhodiola to keep my cortisol down. I tested my urine ketones and was excrete around 2 mmol/L… not to bad. My stomach got nice and flat too. Physically I did feel a little weak, but mentally I felt super sharp! I’m going to do my workout on Monday and I hope I didn’t lose too much strength… Will report back. I will also put together a formal article on my experience shortly…
Books Currently Reading
- The Truth: An Uncomfortable Book About Relationships, by Neil Strauss
- Only about half way through so far, but really enjoying this book. A lot of people “poo-poo” his other book, The Game, but if you read it you know that Strauss is an awesome writer who pokes fun at himself and others in a pursuit to learn something. His latest book looks at relationship dynamics and explores various formats such as monogamy and polyamory. So far it’s been a super interesting and hilarious read. I highly recommend it to anyone who is curious about learning more about themselves and/or trying to cohabit with others in a more romantic context.
Goals for the Coming Week
I need to organize time and finish my 2nd partner to my essential fatty acids article. This next one will look at fish oil. Hopefully me writing this down here will get the fire under my ass to make it happen! Stay tuned for that!
In other news… I feel like I have a lot to offer to my clients and future clients, but I’ve been having a hard time articulating my brand. This coming week I want to continue refining my branding with the goal to reach out and help more people. I want to build a community of like-minded people… a collaboration or shorts so I may expand my knowledge in how to better optimize my health and life and well as how we can share more ideas together to all advance ourselves as a community. I hope to acknowledge this process in the coming months… whatever that means. 🙂
